Last update locked up my game

I used to love this game and played it. After awhile I only would get new quests to do every now and then it became boring.
The latest update, however, is the main reason for the one star review. First it would not load and still doesnt. Then it locked up my iPad, which has plenty of memory space available. I do not want to uninstall and reinstall the game because I am afraid of losing my progress in the game. I have opened all properties available but one. I will raise my review when the game becomes playable again.
